Liaqat Ali is a psychiatrist licensed to practice in the province of Ontario since 1991. He is a senior psychiatrist at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie for the last 29 years. He was the Clinical Director and Chief of Psychiatry at Royal Victoria Hospital from 2004 to 2012. He has also worked as Chief of Psychiatry for Northern Newfoundland and Labrador. Previously he had worked as Chief of Psychiatry in Chatham/New Castle, New Brunswick from 1998 to 1991. He has extensive experience conducting psychiatric assessments for plaintiffs and insurance companies.
Dr. Ali is involved in teaching, research and treatment for a variety of clientele in Canada and internationally. He has a Diploma in Psychological Medicine form the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland and a Diploma in Psychiatry from the University of London, England. He is also a member of the Royal College of Psychiatry in the UK. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and he is on Specialist Register for Psychiatry in Canada since 1991. His curriculum vitae is available upon request.
